Calvary Chapel places a strong emphasis on verse-by-verse Bible teaching, contemporary worship, and a commitment to the fundamentals of the Christian faith. Each Calvary Chapel operates independently, and the movement as a whole is known for its informal and contemporary style of worship.

What are Calvary's views and beliefs?

We, at Calvary Chapel of Lincoln County, firmly believe in the existence of one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. Our conviction extends to the divine creation, upholding, and governance of all things by this triune God.

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are foundational to our beliefs. We hold them as the inspired Word of God, without error, and the infallible guide for our faith and practice. We believe in the supremacy of the Word of God over any earthly law contrary to the Holy Scriptures. The King James Version is our chosen translation, accurately representing the original ancient text, forming the basis for our doctrine and Statement of Faith.

In our understanding, God the Father is an infinite, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He mercifully involves Himself in the affairs of humanity, hears and answers prayer, and saves those who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Our belief in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, encompasses His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, teachings, substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth.

Likewise, we affirm the person of the Holy Spirit, proceeding from the Father and Son, convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and regenerating, sanctifying, and empowering believers for ministry.

The Holy Spirit indwells every believer, providing abiding help, guidance, and teaching. We embrace the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of all Biblical gifts according to the instructions in 1 Corinthians 12-14.

Acknowledging all people as sinners by nature, under condemnation, we believe in God’s salvation and regeneration through faith by the Holy Spirit for those who repent and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

Our belief extends to the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head. We uphold the ordinances instituted by Jesus Christ, including full immersion water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Lord Jesus Christ validated the ordinance of marriage.

Our faith rests in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, His personal, visible return to earth, the establishment of His millennial kingdom, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, and eternal blessings for the righteous, along with the endless separation of the wicked.

We anticipate the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church, where all believers will meet the Lord in the air and be taken out of this world before the Tribulation.

Believing in a literal Heaven and Hell, we affirm that those who place their faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven, while those who reject His salvation will be eternally separated from the Lord.

Our stance on marriage, gender, and sexuality aligns with the biblical perspective, and we believe in offering redemption and restoration to all who seek God’s mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity must be afforded to every individual, and any hateful or harassing behavior goes against Scripture and the doctrines of Calvary Chapel of Lincoln County.
