one accord- greek- ὁμοθυμαδόν (homothumadon) Adverb; unanimously: - with one accord, mind, passion (as if breathing hard): - fierceness, indignation, wrath.
|
Meaning behind the name:
What is it:
The Accord is a group of college and
career age men and women gathering
together with one passion (accord); to
know and glorify God. The group is
comprised of those out of high school
to roughly age 30.
The Purpose:
To gather with one another and grow
in the grace and knowledge of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
Fellowship is vital especially as we go
into our career and develop new
routines and lifestyles. Studies have
shown that a vast majority of young
adults stop going to church between the
ages of 18-22 (right after high school).
However, The Accord is here not to
bring us to church but to bring us to
Jesus.
College & Career
The Emphasis
The focus of this group will be Jesus Christ. He is
all we need and truly all we have before when
we stand before our great God, everything else is
perishing. Romans 8:29 says, "For whom He
foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed
into the image of His Son, that He may be the
Firstborn among many brethren."The purpose of
God in each one of His children is for us to be
like Jesus Christ! The goal of this group will be
to glorify God alone by seeking to be made more
like His Son!!!
When is it:
Every Monday night @ 7pm
We will unanimously, with one mind and passion, with a fierceness and wrath burn for our Savior; gathering for one purpose and one purpose only, to glorify God!!
