I was not raised in a christian home but my parents were very loving, hard working, honest folks. Unfortunately my dad started drinking heavily right around the time I was born and sadly because of this he and my mom divorced when I was only six yrs old, which absolutely broke my heart. When I was 8 my Dad accepted the Lord and was transformed in a radical way. Soon after he became a Christian he grew very sick and died when I was only 10. I struggled through some painful years really questioning what this life was all about. When I was a freshman in high school I was invited to church by a friend and because I remembered the amazing change in my dad and had fond memories of him taking me to church, I went. All I can say is the Lord harpooned my heart that day and I have never been the same! Where there was no hope, sadness, and a totally lost and directionless life, Jesus gave me true peace, purpose, and a deep seated joy that circumstances can’t take away. I will never tire of thanking Him for His great love and for pulling me out of the pit of darkness and despair that had captured me. He rescued me and I will love and serve him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength until I see him face to face!!
